Bio

      Jeff Omidvaran is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, composer, and singer who plays Guitar, Bass, Piano, Violin, Native American Flute, Ney, Auto-Harp, Drums, Percussion etc... Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico Jeff Omidvaran began playing guitar at the age of 12. He began his collegiate musical studies at the University of New Mexico where he studied with Michael Chapdelaine for two years. In 2003, he began playing with three-time Grammy award-winning Native American flautist Robert Mirabal. Jeff toured the U.S. with Robert for four years playing at numerous venues and festivals around the country. In 2005 he was asked to be part of the documentary Playing for Change. Playing for Change used modern music technology to unite street musicians from all over the world. Proceeds from Playing for Change helped to build music schools around the world.

      In June of 2007, Jeff moved to California and was accepted to the University of California, Irvine at the Claire Trevor School of the Arts where he studied Guitar with John Schneiderman. During his time at the University he was awarded numerous scholarships including the Edna H. Beach Scholarship in 2008-2009, the Kris and Linda Elftmann Scholarship in 2009-2010, the Catching the Dream Scholarship in 2008-2010, and the Sylvia Easton Memorial Scholarship in 2009-2010. Jeff graduated from the University of California Irvine Magna Cum Laude in June of 2010 with a degree in Music Performance and a minor in Digital Arts. Currently, Jeff lives in the Los Angeles area and works freelance as performer, composer, and producer.
